Time Entry Reservation
A Timed Entry Permit is required from mid-May to mid-October to access any part of Rocky Mountain National Park, including East Inlet Trail (Adams Falls), North Inlet and East Shore Trail heads located in town. This system was introduced to manage crowd levels, protect natural resources, and ensure a better visitor experience during peak months.
-
Permits are not needed if you enter before 9:00am or after 2:00pm.
-
Please note that a timed entry reservation is needed in addition to your park pass.
-
Timed Entry permits must be purchased at recreation.gov and are not possible to purchase in person at the ranger stations or visitors centers, while park passes may be purchased in person.
-
There are two types on Timed Entry Reservations - Timed Entry is good for any section of RMNP other than Bear Lake, which requires its own Timed Entry. Make sure to select the correct option when purchasing on recreation.gov.
-
Timed entry permits may be purchased 30 days in advance, but 70% of the reservations are released for purchase at 5pm the day before.
