Lone Pine Lake via the East Inlet Trail is a 10.3-mile out-and-back in RMNP.  This challenging route, averaging 5 hours to complete offers stunning scenery and is popular for backpacking, camping, and fishing. While open year round, this trail is best visited from May to October. As with all trails in RMNP, Dogs are not allowed.

Starting at East Inlet Trailhead, you'll pass the roaring Adams Falls before following the East Inlet River through wildlife-filled meadows. The trail becomes steeper, with well-maintained stone steps and bridges leading to Lone Pine Lake at over 9,500 feet. Backcountry campsites, including East Meadow and Cats Lair make it ideal for an overnight trip. For those looking to continue their adventure, the trail extends past Lone Pine leading to other alpine gems like Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald Lake - each rewarding hikers with even more breathtaking views and tranquil mountain waters.
