July 4th is one of the busiest days in Grand Lake, drawing thousands of visitors for the spectacular fireworks display. Parking is limited, but free spaces can be found along Park Avenue, Grand Avenue, and Lake Avenue. Expect heavy traffic after the show, with wait times to leave town averaging about an hour.
Can I watch fireworks from my boat?
Watching Grand Lake’s 4th of July fireworks from a boat is an unforgettable experience! Vessels must be equipped with adequate lights, and those on non-motorized boats should prepare for the darkness on the water. There are two boat ramps for access - one on Grand Lake and one on Shadow Mountain Reservoir, but expect boat traffic at these ramps and in the channel. For those wanting a prime viewing spot without navigating the water, Headwaters Marina offers reserved seats on docked pontoon boats for a small fee. Remember, town docks are first-come, first-served and do not allow overnight mooring.

Can the fireworks display be cancelled?
