The AA Barn is a charming reservable day-use site ideal for group picnics and gatherings. Situated next to the Colorado River, the barn is conveniently located near attractions such as Rocky Mountain National Park, Shadow Mountain Reservoir, Lake Granby, and Grand Lake. It lies ¼ mile southeast of the Green Ridge Campground.

To reach the AA Barn from the Green Ridge Campground, start by taking the East Shore Trail. This scenic trail meanders along the edge of Shadow Mountain Lake before looping back toward the Colorado River. Once near the river, cross the bridge to arrive at the AA Barn. The entire route is approximately 1.5 miles round trip and offers easy access with scenic views along the way.

Reservations for the AA Barn provide access to the historic barn, including use of picnic tables, chairs, and one ADA-accessible toilet. Nearby parking is available for visitors. To access the site, drive to the Green Ridge Complex via Highway 34, turning onto County Road 66 (Forest Road 274). Follow CR 66 to the end, where access through the gate is granted with a reservation.

The AA Barn is an excellent spot for hosting events while enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
